My name is Sam and I’m the founder of ilovejeans.com. A woman in my 40’s ,who until the begining of this year wouldn’t run for ANYTHING! All that changed when I was persistently asked by fellow denim lover Donna Ida Thornton patron of the charity Jeans for Genes.
So Donna kept asking if I would take part in the annual Jeans for Genes 5k run, this was back in January. I caved and signed up not really knowing what to expect or if my legs/head/body would be in sync to run.
However with regular training twice a week with my P.T ( Della) and weekend runs, going on a low carb diet, i’m feeling like I could possibly make it.
We are now 5 days away from 11th, when thousands of women will gather in Hyde Park for the Adidas 5k run and for their specific charities. I have recently learnt that infact in Team Donna there is 150 women all running with hopefully the same goal…
Ok so let me give you a rundown of my goals.
To complete the run without stopping.
To prove to myself I can actually achieve the impossible and run for 35-40 mins
To be able to collect my donations proudly!
To be part of Team Donna Ida
To raise enough cash to be in the running to win the care package below…
Everyone who runs will receive a £50 gift voucher to spend at Donna Ida, plus a gorgeous t-shirt from Enza Costa, which will be printed by famed London designer Simeon Farrar! There will also be the chance for runners to get their hands on goody bags like the one above, providing they raise the most money – an extra incentive to join Team Donna Ida and get fundraising (if you ever needed one!), the goody bags contain prizes such as jeans of your choice from Donna Ida, Afternoon Tea at The Ritz and Victoria Beckham sunglasses.
Jeans for Genes is a fantastic charity and really worth all the effort training for this Sunday’s run.
