Being pregnant is a wonderful gift, don’t get me wrong but coming to terms with your changing body can be hard to swallow. Especially if like me you had just purchased a great fitting jean, J Brand Kinsey Skinny jean in Tangerine before finding out the news!
When mentioning my baby news to Donna Ida she told me about their Maternity Alteration Service for expectant mums.
As part of the service, stylish mums are measured in store (pictured) and their jeans are altered into maternity jeans. The alteration service can be used on new jeans, or a pair of existing jeans from pre-pregnancy, ensuring the perfect fit.
The process can be reversed post-pregnancy and jeans can be altered back to their original shape. Alterations cost £40 each way.
Being able to wear my beloved J Brand Jeans through my pregnancy has made the transition of my growing belly not such an issue when it comes to dressing my bump.
So I chose two of my favourite styles I knew I would miss wearing terribly, the J Brand Houlihan & Kinsey Skinny jean in Tangerine.
I visted the Donna Ida Belgravia Boutique with my jeans to be measured and a week later the altered jeans were delivered to my home. Excitedly I tried them on and was thrilled at the fit and the clean way they had been altered. The side seam had been opened and elastic inserts sewn in giving me at least 2.5 to 3 inches extra room at the sides.
ilovejeans tip: When choosing your own jean for alteration keep to a mid or low rise jean rather than a high-rise.
